Olanesti Nature Reserve
The reservation is represented by a forested segment on an area of 108 ha, surrounded in three parts by a meander of the Dniester at the western border of Olanesti village. Representative plant formations of white poplar, Euro-American poplar, ash, pedunculate oak, elm and willow are protected here, harmoniously combined with meadows of obsiga and pear. The reserve preserves the biodiversity specific to the meadow forests, which improves the microclimate and the hydrological regime, maintains the high flow of the rivers, favors the increase of the groundwater reserves, protects the pollution waters and the banks of the river. Thus, here the forest vegetation was preserved in an almost natural state without major human interventions. The main types of ecosystems available for visiting are: River - an ecosystem of the Dniester segment, permanent and periodic lakes and meadow basins (shallow freshwater) with aquatic vegetation that grows in water and on its surface, canal, permanent / temporarily filled with water, freshwater drainage systems, lakes and water-filled objects connected to them, saltwater canals.
